November Update

November 23rd, 2009

Hi Folks, The new Ambulance Service radio system is gradually getting going and overcoming its teething problems. CFR’s throughout the county now have their own dedicated dispatch desk which should get us actioned sooner and the right group sent to the right job. At the moment things seem very quiet and we have been blaming the dispatcher for not calling us out but a check on last years records show that this is a quiet month but gets busy in December.

Donations this month are very gratefully received from the WI in Flash who gave us £20 in thanks for a talk two of our group gave to them about Responding and to Emma and Gary Wentworth from Knotbury who gave us a very generous £50. The collecting box in Longnor Stores had £23.50 in it in a very short time after the last one was stolen – Thank you everyone.

Keep your eyes open for a very nice local calendar which Michela Griffith has produced from her own photographs and is being sold in aid of our group. They are available from the local shops and at Brownspit Farm on the 6th of December.

Can we now make a plea to any ex responders out there to think about doing a bit of refresher training and coming back into the group to help us give more cover. Circumstances will have changed for many of you and perhaps now you could manage to do a couple of duties a month?

KEEP WELL and KEEP SAFE
