Early Autumn, 2011

At last it’s good to report that our group has expanded.  We have three new responders who have successfully completed their basic training and are now doing shifts with the Ambulance Service to gain some practical experience before being let loose on the community!  The new responders are Nettie Cook from Newtown, Darren Barlow from Warslow and Jonathon Rowley from Flash.  There are also two more who will hopefully start training fairly soon.  We are now hoping that one or two of the group who are on the inactive list might be tempted back if they have someone to go on duty with.  It is so much better to go out on a call as a pair so that one can operate the radio and map read while the other can concentrate on driving and so much better to share the carrying of our very heavy bags, especially if it’s to Three Shires Head!

Since the last news letter in July we have very gratefully received a donation of £350 from Erica and Charlotte Taylor, Charlotte was the retiring Warslow Gala Queen and over her year, with Erica’s help, raised money for our group and the Air Ambulance.  Well done and thank you.  Also from Warslow, Joe and Pam Critchlow gave us £220 following a 65th birthday, again many thanks.  The collecting boxes at the Greyhound, Warslow and the Hartington Cheese Shop gave us £15.68 and £14.76 respectively, thank you.

The new vehicle fund is building slowly but the old vehicle has required some major surgery recently.  Hopefully is now fit again to go into the winter and we will all keep trying to build up that fund.

KEEP WELL and KEEP SAFE

For any information about fundraising or if you would like to train to become a First Responder please contact us. Thanks.

Late Summer, 2011

It seems very autumnal at the moment, with blustery, cloudy weather. And the leaves are starting to turn…..

More news about recent recruits coming soon!
