Minutes of the meeting held 26th January, 2012
The Greyhound Warslow
Present:  Ged Fitzgibbon (GF), Darren Barlow (DB), Jonathon Rowley (JR), Lizzie Plant (LP), and Marie Frodsham (MF),
Apologies:  Karen Kidd (KK), Lou Whitehouse (LW), Nettie Cook (NC), Jamie Cook-Berrisford, Stephan Economedies (SE), Wendy Hall (WH), Yvette (Y), Nicki (N), Alice Johnstone (AJ,) Jenny Hurst (JH).
Insurance:  MF has contacted Matt who has advised her to contact the HPC re responding also WMAS will not insure MF to practice as a paramedic.  MF to write to the HPC to get their stand on the matter.
Vehicle:  We have still not received the bill for the work that was done.  It is Road worthy but Derek would like to see a bit more weld on the cross member.  The back tyre is now fixed.
Charity Status:  Complicated.  25 1st responder groups are presently charities including some local to us.  In the past the charity needed to be registered with the companies commission.  However form spring this year there will be such things as Charitable incorporated organisations which don’t need to register with companies house.  However they will still need a constitution and have the accounts audited.  This gives the advantage of limited liability and offers the officers some protection should the group go belly up.  It would possibly have the advantage of things like Gift aid and possibly claiming the VAT back.  We need to decide if it is what the group wants.  GF to enquire further and report back -  ideally we need more people not just responders to help with things like this and possibly do a bit of admin.  LP knows an accountant who may audit the books cheaply if necessary.
Constitution:  DB has created a constitution as a draft copy.  To be discussed further at the next meeting.
Jobs:  Stores – there may be a room at Manifold school that we could possibly use MF to find out how big an area we need and DB to enquire about the room.  Stores to be held by MF at present until sorted.
Uniform: MF
Call Log: GF will do for the time being need copies of the call log in the vehicle for people to fill in.
Parish News letter:  DB also to let GF have a copy.
Collecting tins: LP
Donations:  If anyone receives a donation for us please forward on to LW and let DB know so it can be put in the Parish News letters.
£100 for Rose Robinson after a coffee morning.
£77.02 collecting tin Paddock Tea rooms.
Peter and Jackie: Suggested that we get a plaque and have it engraved with (To Peter and Jackie for your dedication and hard work on behalf of Flash and Longnor First Responders 682) along with a bottle of wine.  MF to sort.
Charity Night on 14th March at the Greyhound Warslow – 3 course meal for £20 approx 50% comes to us.  Please spread the word only 40 places on  a first come first served basis.  Please contact the Greyhound to book tickets. Race night is a possibility the 6 videos cost approx £65 with betting slips and can have sponsorship from local businesses, but needs lots of organisation and volunteers.
Conflict resolution:  MF to Contact  Julie Davis to see if DB, JR and NC need to do it.
