Vehicles- old ambulance vehicles go to auction MH to give us a ahout when happens. Most vehicles leased at present. Skoda- might be able to get demo vehicle for about £8000 MH to give details.

Fund raising – Grants need constitution, MF to contact Dave Leaper phone 0797119186 for help. Also say support WMAS instead of respond for. The purple book has a no of grants that may be available in. Do not put in for 100% of the grant but go to two sources for 50/50 or 80/20 etc.

Congratulations to group as managed to re-invent itself. May have 15 responders by mid next year. Emails need to be redistributed.

CFRs – now got bigger standing, 12,500 responders with Staffs being the best in the country especially now we have formal training and governance. FPOS enhanced best in Europe. Where now- call rate is increasing 10% per year ambulance service cannot cope, need to stop everyone going to a+e. Need to change- increase awareness and education (schools and community resus). There looks like being a community engagement including a team of paramedics, this can be used to perform screening (Bp, bm + med review) and education. Want to give everyone the chance to learn BLS and tell people what they can do to improve the chances of survival. Can go into primary schools to begin to educate them. Heartstart is a 2 hr course to learn CPR what to do when someone is unconscious and major bleeding, can be taught to 6 years and up, this allows teachers to be trained.

CPAD – site coming to Butterton cost of defib approx £1500 but might be able to get grants from the community heartbeat trust and the grass roots project.

Survival – decreases by 10% for every minute with out help. Currently 3-5% nationally, 44% for Staffs (going to hospital and 8% actually leaving hospital).

Community strategy – approx 30 community surgeries to engage with the community and do checks. Surgeries should be open and community focused. Heartstart to begin in the new year in partnership with the British Heart Foundation, Staffs will be devided into 4 quadrants. (possibly JH and LW if interested as don’t have to respond).

Blue Lights – CFRS not allowed to speed or got through red lights.
